5 things you might be missing from your office life; a freelancer’s right to reminisce
The birthday treats
When you work at a company of over 100 employees, chances are you get at least one chocolate treat every three days. Right? My Math is probably wrong cause I’m not one of the number-smart people at {company name} but one thing I know for sure. A lot of sugar goes down at any office whether someone is getting older (and wiser) or not. And it’s free too! Well, no more of that for you!
Strangers who became friends
First impressions become second and third and by the time you start work as a freelancer, you have left behind a good number of people who have seen you at your best, at your worst, early in the morning and late in the evening. You have shared your pains and gains and many, many hours of your days. Don’t worry, if it was mutual, you will always have Paris.
The coffee shop around the corner
You know which one it is. The one where they know how you take your extra foamy cappuccino after week 2. The one with the lady who always smiles. The one where everybody knows your name (OK, that’s a bar.) It’s still there, but it’s not the same. You know what I mean?
Getting dressed
You too? It’s OK. Who cares, who sees you, who will know. Everybody knows! You look at yourself in your phone’s ‘memories’ (the setting you forgot to slide off) and think, ‘Was this really me?’ Yes, this was you, better start doing some PJ burning.
Walking around the city
You think you can still do it but honestly, if you don’t have a good enough reason, you probably prefer to binge watch your new favourite series instead of doing what looks good in movies but never happens in life. You know, the stroll-around-the-city-in-the-mornings-cause-I-can.
