5 things you don’t miss from your office life; a freelancer’s right to freedom
Rush hour commute
Alarm clocks aside, the pure case of trying to get to work on time is a daily headache. If you don’t live near enough and can’t afford to use a car every day then the struggle of commuting is real. Plus, you get up much earlier to only find yourself exhausted by the time you sit at your desk space. Lucky you, no more of that.
Gulping the food
This one should have been first. You eat sitting down and you have time to chew. Even if you don’t, you make time because no one is watching (not that they are watching at an office hopefully, it sounds creepy). The food can even be warm, freshly-cut and digested properly! Go figure! Also, you know how people at an office stare at your food cause apparently finding out what you have prepared for lunch is the most fascinating time of the day for them? Yep, you’re free from that too.
Office politics
Remember that colleague you always pumped into at the elevator and you had to make small talk even though you count the hairs on your head out of boredom but the elevator was slow so by the time you reached your floor you knew what they had for dinner and where they went for their holidays? Now delete all this info. Freedom to ride random elevators with silent strangers is in the cards for you.
About those cookies
You are free from all the junk food and sugar you didn’t choose. No matter how determined you are, you still said yes to some of the sugar. No more of that. You can control what you eat and most importantly what you don’t eat. Now you know why freelancers are better looking. Just kidding, it’s not because of their diet. They’re just happier. I’m kidding again. Maybe.
Open desk space
Please comment below if you love open office areas. I didn’t think so. The amount of concentration you need to have in order to be productive is yogi level. Even the best among us cannot handle it. You don’t want to know what everyone around you did last night, their relationship problems, their phone calls, their walking around sneezing. I don’t know who came up with this, but you can laugh at them as you type away at the serenity of your lovely, private working space.
